Description
Custom character book cover design is for eBook only. Full wrap available for an additional fee. Two options are available based on the number of characters you need on the cover. If beyond two characters, additional characters are $50 each.
You will receive three front cover JPGs (various sizes), cover mock-ups in various styles, title PNG, character files, and more.
25% deposit must be paid to schedule start date for cover work. Remaining balance is due before delivery of final full-resolution files. Once you’ve paid your deposit, we will contact you to schedule a start date. We usually are booked out at least two months in advance and the process usually takes a month (for one cover, plan for longer if series). If you require a faster turnaround or an immediate start date, contact us for availability using the Enquiry tab. Rush jobs are available for an additional fee. If you are planning a series, contact us for special series pricing. Usually, additional covers in the series will be 20% off. Additional wraps will be $25. Depending on the design of the additional covers, some restrictions may apply.
Each cover level includes up to 3 character(s) renders and 3 cover concepts. Once render and concepts are chosen, we will illustrate using the renders as guides. You will then receive a draft of your cover. At that point, up to 3 revisions are included in base price. Additional revisions are charged at an hourly rate of $60 per hour unless the revision is based on an error made by Alt 19 Creative. We will consult with you once we’ve reached this territory. Alt 19 Creative reserves the right to post any cover concepts not chosen by client as premade covers available for sale on our website.
TERMS:
1) Upon receipt of full payment, Alt 19 Creative grants the client an exclusive license to use the final cover design for the book in print, eBook, and promotional materials. Alt 19 Creative grants an exclusive extended license to use the characters for merchandise. In some cases, the entire cover, including background images, may be used for merchandise (depending on the stock source). We may also use backgrounds we create. In this case, an exclusive extended license is available for the entire cover. In cases where we create the entire cover from scratch (no use of stock images), additional fees may apply. Be sure to consult with us on what you want during the planning phase.
2) The client should consult Alt 19 Creative if he/she desires any alterations after the cover is finalized. The client understands additional payment may be required for changes.
3) The client agrees to abide by the terms of any license agreement for any images purchased by Alt 19 Creative through a third-party image provider for use in the book cover design (usually for background elements). The final cost includes the standard license to use these images and may be limited to a print run of 500,000 units, depending on the terms of the third-party provider. If print run is exceeded, additional licensing may be required. If you desire to use the book cover image for t-shirts and products other than the book cover, extended licensing may be needed (except for the custom characters). Consult with Alt 19 Creative before doing so, More details will be provided on the images and the third-party providers used upon request. The original photographer owns the copyright to the images, and they cannot be distributed in any manner other than in the book cover design and promotional materials. Custom character(s) can be used for t-shirts and products other than the book cover.
4) Alt 19 Creative has the right to use the layout for portfolio and advertising purposes on their website and social media accounts. Once you have revealed your cover or released your book, contact us and we will add the cover to our online portfolio and social media accounts. We will also announce your book on our Facebook page and in the Premade Covers from Alt 19 Creative Facebook group.
